Recycle Used Batteries in the "Battery Bucket"

Township of O'Hara Council is pleased to announce Alkaline-Nickel batteries can now be recycled in the "Battery Bucket" in the Municipal Building lobby Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Batteries can also still be recycled through Waste Management's Household Hazardous Waste Program by calling 1-800-449-7587.
Acceptable batteries for the Alkaline-Nickle battery bucket include:
- Alkaline
- Carbon-Zinc
- NiCad
- NiMH
- Silver Oxide
- Mercury
All battery terminals MUST be taped using packing tape or each battery must be placed in its own sealed plastic bag to prevent short circuits.
