Protecting loved ones:

This is a program offered by law enforcement and other first responder agencies in 41 states, using proven radio technology by specially trained search and rescue teams to find individuals enrolled in the program.

If you answer yes to one or more of the following questions you may wish to enroll in Project Life Saver:

  • Do you have a loved one who wanders away from the home?
  • Have you had to call 911 for a loved one who could not be found?
  • Do you know a loved one who “escapes” from home?

Persons enrolled in this program wear a small transmitter the size of a wristwatch which emits a unique tracking signal.

Any Allegheny County resident who is a caregiver can enroll on behalf of a person with Alzheimer’s, forms of dementia, downs syndrome, autism and certain veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress who wander. Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala is sponsoring Project Lifesaver FREE to Allegheny County residents.

For additional information please contact the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office: Assistant District Attorney Angela Kelly at 412-350-3138 or email akelly@alleghenycountyda.us.
