The Township of O’Hara and the Borough of Blawnox have entered discussions on the possibility of combining the Borough of Blawnox Police Department under the authority of the Township of O’Hara Police Department. The first step in the process was to perform an actuarial study of each Municipalities Police Pension Plan to see if the combining of the plans was feasible. It appears that the Police Pension Plans are compatible and fully funded. The next step in the process is to begin working on agreements between the Municipalities on the combination. This process has begun.
