What to Recycle

All recyclable materials may now be co-mingled in your recycling container.

Include these items in Recycling

Paper: white office paper, computer paper, newspapers, advertising inserts, magazines, junk mail (including envelopes), coupons, receipts and phone books

Glass: food jars and beverage bottles in clear, brown, amber or green colored glass

Metal: all aluminum and bi-metal food and beverage cans (must empty cans and rinse), empty aerosol cans, aluminum foil and foil products (clean)

Paperboard: boxes such as cereal boxes, tissue boxes, empty papertowel and toilet paper rolls, etc.

Corrugated paper: cardboard (must be torn or cut to fit in the recycling container)

Plastic: plastic containers with the recycle symbol and #'s 1 - 7 i.e. soft drink and water bottles, milk and water jugs, house-hold cleaning product containers, yogurt cups, cottage cheese cups, baby wipe containers, shampoo bottles,

*numbers are usually found on the bottom of containers

Cartons:: milk, juice, soy milk, broth, soup and other food and beverage cartons (aseptic cartons as well as the familiar gabletop, refrigerated cartons)


DO NOT include these items in Recycling

Paper:  Soiled newspaper, waxed paper, food contaminated paper

Glass:Window Glass
Light Bulbs
Mirrors
Ceramics (plates, bowls, cups, etc.)
Drinking Glasses
Broken Glass

Metal: Food contaminated metals, soiled aluminum foil or pie plates, plumbing parts, automotive parts, paint cans

Corrugated Paper: Food contaminated cardboard

Plastic: Styrofoam, automobile or petroleum products, pesticides, fertilizers, plastic grocery bags
