Warrant Scam

Warrant Scam information

The O’Hara Township Police Department wants to remind residents of a common phone scam where persons posing as local, state or federal police officers call individuals telling them there is a warrant for their arrest. The phone number may indicate it is from a legitimate police department. The Police will never ask for payments over the phone. We will most often ask you to turn yourself into the courts so a warrant can be addressed. Never buy gift cards or make bitcoin deposits to pay for anything unsolicited.

If you have a concern or feel you may be a target of a scammer, please call your local police department before making any payment to an unverified source. We are here to help!
