Township Solicitation Notification

The Township of O’Hara Police Department received notification from Working America, a community affiliate of the AFL-CIO, that they will be conducting a door-to-door organizing drive in O’Hara starting on the 22nd of April 2024 and continuing until at least June 1st, 2024. The organization provided the appropriate paperwork showing the organization is a recognized not-for-profit 501(c)(5) labor organization which means they may function outside the Township ordinance for solicitation including ignoring the no solicitation list compiled by the Township.

According to the organization, Working America’s canvassers are professionally trained and may at times carry prominently displayed picture identification cards and wear red safety vests that display their affiliation with Working America. 

Residences that prominently display “NO TRESPASSING or NO SOLICITING” signs should not be approached by canvassers. If your residence is clearly marked, please notify the O’Hara Police of the violation. If any suspicious activity is observed, please report the suspicious activity to 911 and ask for a police response.
